1st Annual Peace Conference Report
The 1st Annual Peace Conference held by the East African Institute for Peace and Governance in August 2024 focused on addressing the complex peace and security challenges in the Horn of Africa. With over 100 participants, including diplomats, academics, and civil society members, the conference explored themes such as countering violent extremism, climate change, regional diplomacy, and governance reforms. The discussions emphasized collaborative efforts to foster sustainable peace through regional integration, cultural diplomacy, and economic partnerships. Key resolutions included strengthening regional cooperation to combat extremism, empowering women and youth in peace processes, and integrating climate resilience into peacebuilding strategies.
